India resumes imports of Russian LNG after one-year pause
16 April 2026 00:10
India has purchased a shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia for the first time in a year, according to Reuters, citing shipping data from LSEG.
The cargo was reportedly loaded at Russia’s Portovaya LNG plant on the Baltic Sea and is currently en route to India.
Despite the facility being under US sanctions, the delivery is proceeding, marking a renewed energy transaction between the two countries after a year-long interruption in such imports.
