Indian actor arrested over alleged sexual assault on domestic worker

An Indian actor, Nadeem Khan, has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly raping his domestic help over a period of 10 years, police confirmed on January 25, Caliber.Az reports via Indian media.

According to a complaint filed by the 41-year-old victim, Khan, who recently appeared in the blockbuster film Dhurandhar, allegedly assaulted her repeatedly at her residence in Malwani and at his house in Versova, after promising to marry her. The victim claims Khan later refused to honour his promise, prompting her to file a complaint with the Versova police.

Khan was taken into custody on January 22 and remains under police detention, officials told news agency PTI.

As the first alleged assault occurred within the jurisdiction of Malvani police, and because the victim resides there, the case was registered as a zero FIR and transferred to the Versova police for further investigation.

The victim had previously worked as a domestic helper for several actors, through which she became acquainted with Khan years ago. The authorities are currently investigating the allegations.

Nadeem Khan was last seen in the Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar.
