Indian journalist says level of corruption in his country unprecedented

Corruption in India’s military and defence production sectors has reached unprecedented levels, while the government has pursued a policy of systematic mistreatment of Muslims, Indian journalist Ajay Shukla has said.

In a recent interview with Radio Pakistan, Shukla has challenged the Modi government’s portrayal of India as “Vishwaguru” (world teacher) and “Shining India”, pointing to what he described as failures in foreign policy, governance and defence production, Caliber.Az reports.

The journalist criticised the government’s foreign policy record, administrative performance and levels of corruption.

He said BRICS had become little more than a showcase, arguing that India had focused on Iran under pressure from China and Russia.

Shukla also questioned India’s manufacturing capabilities, saying the country remains dependent on imports for defence equipment while simply labelling them “Made in India.”

He claimed that corruption in India’s military and defence production sectors had reached unprecedented levels.

Addressing the treatment of Muslims, Shukla alleged that mosques were being demolished for political purposes and that Muslims were being arrested simply for worshipping in their homes.

He warned that the Modi government could stage a conspiracy similar to Pahalgam if its anti-Muslim narrative failed to generate political gains.

Shukla further alleged that the BJP government continues to use “Godi media” to promote hatred towards Pakistan for political purposes.
