Indian leader begins two-day visit to Israel video
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Israel on February 25 for a two-day official visit, where he was welcomed at Ben Gurion Airport by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to the Yeni Şafak newspaper.
Modi was greeted directly on the runway by Netanyahu and his wife, Sara Netanyahu. The two leaders embraced and exchanged greetings as the Israeli national anthem was performed during a formal welcoming ceremony, accompanied by a solemn march. An honour guard was deployed to secure and mark the official reception.
Immediately following the arrival, the two leaders were scheduled to hold a closed-door meeting at the airport. Modi is then expected to travel to Jerusalem, where he will deliver an address at the Knesset.
The visit comes amid deepening strategic cooperation between Israel and India, particularly in the areas of security, high technology, the defence industry, and innovation.
