14 March 2026 17:07
Two tankers flying the flag of India and carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) to ports on the country’s western coast have safely passed through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Indian officials.
The development was reported by Al Jazeera, citing a statement from India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.
Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, the ministry’s special secretary, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, said the vessels had safely navigated the strategic waterway.
“Early in the morning, they safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz and are heading toward India,” Sinha said.
The tankers are transporting liquefied natural gas to ports located in western India.
