Indra-2025: Russian, Indian forces launch joint counterterrorism drills
The joint Russian-Indian military exercises Indra-2025 have commenced in India, the Russian Ministry of Defence has announced.
The opening ceremony took place at the Mahajan training ground in Rajasthan, with the drills scheduled to run from October 6 to 15, Caliber.Az reports per TASS.
According to the ministry, “The main objective is to develop coordination between units of both countries in combating international terrorism, including improving tactics for counterterrorism operations.”
During the exercises, Russian and Indian soldiers will practice joint tactical operations and command of combined forces. The drills are also designed to enhance operational interoperability between units and facilitate the exchange of best practices in modern combat operations.
The Indra series of joint military exercises between Russia and India began in 2003. The 2025 edition, known as Indra-2025, is scheduled to take place from October 6 to 15 at the Mahajan training ground in Rajasthan, India.
