International Ombudsmen Forum participants visit Tartar district to see Armenian atrocities PHOTO

04 October 2024 11:25

Participants of the International Baku Ombudsmen Forum visited the Tartar district following their trip to Aghdam.

During their meeting at the Executive Authority of the Tartar district, guests were briefed on the terrorist crimes committed against civilians due to Armenia's aggression, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

It was highlighted that during the 44-day Patriotic War, the Armenian armed forces violated international law by launching 16,277 tanks, artillery, and mortar shells, along with 21 banned missiles, targeting settlements in the region, including the town of Tartar. This onslaught resulted in significant damage to civilian properties, with numerous residential homes, apartment buildings, and non-residential facilities being destroyed. Tragically, the shelling claimed the lives of 16 individuals and left 63 others wounded, including women and children.

The forum participants viewed remnants of the banned missiles fired at Tartar during the Patriotic War, which were displayed in the central square. They also examined photo exhibits documenting the destruction inflicted on the district's infrastructure.

In a gesture of solidarity, a tree was planted in the “Vatan” garden located in the Shikharkh settlement.
