Iran authorises passage of 30 vessels through Strait of Hormuz
14 May 2026 16:35
Thirty vessels have passed through the Strait of Hormuz since May 13 evening with permission from Iran, a representative of the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has stated.
Earlier, Iran had reportedly allowed several Chinese vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz under what it described as established protocols governing the management of the strategic waterway, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Nour News.
According to the Fars News Agency, experts believe that the decision, based on Iran’s internal protocols, neutralises any possibility of political use of the Strait for external pressure and strengthens Tehran’s position as a capable manager of this vital route.
