Iran-backed militants strike missiles at US base in Syria

Iranian-backed terrorist groups have launched a missile attack on a US military base at the Al-Omar oil field on the western bank of the Euphrates River in Syria.

According to local sources, three shells were fired at the stronghold, Anadolu reports.

The area of the incident is under the control of the terrorist organisation RKK/YPG.

In response, the US military struck the militants' positions about 25 kilometres from the base with surface-to-surface missiles.

US officials have not yet commented on the incident.
