Iran blocks container ship SELEN transit through Strait of Hormuz

Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an elite unit of Iran’s armed forces, turned back the container ship SELEN in the Strait of Hormuz due to the absence of transit authorization, the IRGC Navy commander Alireza Tangsiri said.

“The container ship SELEN was turned back by IRGC naval forces for failing to comply with legal protocols and lacking permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz,” he wrote on X. He stressed that any vessel transiting this waterway must fully coordinate with Iranian authorities.
