Iranian, Cuban foreign ministers discuss Middle East developments
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation on the evening of March 5 with his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla to discuss recent developments in the Middle East and the consequences of “military aggression” by the United States and Israel against Iran.
Parrilla expressed condolences over the death of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Iranian civilians, including elementary school students in Minab, emphasising his country’s solidarity and support for Iran, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
Araghchi, in turn, stated that actions by the US and Israel, including attacks on schools, hospitals, mosques, and diplomatic facilities, violate the UN Charter and international law. He stressed that Iran will defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity and respond decisively to any aggression.
Rodríguez strongly condemned the attacks and called for respect for state sovereignty and international law. The two ministers concluded by agreeing to continue consultations on regional and international issues.
