Iran denies reports of attack on Saudi air base near Al Kharj

Iran has denied reports that it launched any attack on a Saudi military facility following claims of an incident near Al Kharj, where a major air base hosting U.S. forces is located.

Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB quoted a military official as saying that Tehran had not carried out any strikes in the area, Caliber.Az reports quoting foreign media. 

“Iran has not fired any shots” at the base, the official said.

The denial came after reports of an explosion near the facility and an earlier warning issued by Saudi Civil Defence regarding a potential threat in the Al Kharj governorate.

Saudi authorities later stated that the situation had stabilised and issued an all-clear, without providing further details on the nature or origin of the alert.
