Iran holds talks with India and Sri Lanka on US, Israeli strikes
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held separate phone conversations with his Indian counterpart, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and Sri Lankan counterpart, Vijitha Herath, to review regional developments following US and Israeli military strikes against Iran, as well as matters of bilateral cooperation.
Araghchi condemned the US actions, including the attack on the frigate Dena in international waters without warning, and stressed the need for legal and international accountability for this crime through international bodies, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
He also highlighted the responsibility of all governments and the UN to firmly condemn these actions.
Iran expressed gratitude to Sri Lanka for its efforts in rescuing and assisting the frigate’s crew and discussed the importance of ensuring the safety of Iranian vessels and their personnel.
Araghchi concluded the talks by emphasising the need to continue contacts and consultations between the countries.
