Iran links potential US talks to ceasefire compliance
Iran has said that any potential negotiations with the United States will depend on Washington’s adherence to the ceasefire regime, signalling a cautious approach to renewed diplomatic engagement.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stressed that Tehran requires firm guarantees before entering into talks, Caliber.Az reports via the ministry's Telegram channel.
“The holding of any negotiations depends on receiving guarantees that the United States will fulfil its commitments to observe the ceasefire regime on all fronts,” he said.
Baghaei also confirmed that both Iran and the United States have received an invitation to hold negotiations in Pakistan. He noted that the proposal is currently under review and remains at the planning stage.
