Iran, Oman discuss security of Strait of Hormuz
Iran and Oman have discussed regional stability and the security of the Strait of Hormuz during talks in Muscat between senior officials from the two countries.
Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi held talks in Muscat with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ghalibaf’s press service.
“The parties stressed the importance of using the current diplomatic moment to support peace efforts, strengthen the ceasefire and stability <...>, which will increase the chances of reducing tensions, preserve regional security, and ensure the safety of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and international corridors,” the press service said.
The meeting also covered bilateral relations, principles of good neighbourliness, and the latest developments in the Middle East.
The Iranian delegation arrived in the Sultanate on an official visit following talks with US representatives in Switzerland.
