Iran rebuts speculation, affirms Supreme Leader’s active role in governance
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, remains in good health and continues to oversee the country, the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh stated.
“He is in good health and has full control,” Khatibzadeh said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Addressing questions about Khamenei’s rare public appearances, the deputy minister attributed them to an “extremely dangerous situation,” alleging that the United States, “in violation of all international laws, killed a head of state.” He added that the US’ partners in Israel would not hesitate to “kill anyone.”
The comments came in response to recent reports by The Times, which cited intelligence sources claiming that the Supreme Leader was undergoing medical treatment and not participating in decision-making. Iranian officials have officially denied these reports, reaffirming that Khamenei is actively managing state affairs.
