Iran’s chief justice vows swift trials for Israeli collaborators
Iran’s Chief Justice Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei has announced that court proceedings against individuals arrested on suspicion of collaborating with Israel will be conducted swiftly and decisively.
"If someone is arrested for ties with the Zionist regime and collaboration with it, the trial and punishment must be carried out and announced very quickly, in accordance with the law and wartime conditions," Mohseni Ejei stated, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
To recall, yesterday, June 15, Iranian media reported the detention of two operatives of Israel’s foreign intelligence service, Mossad, in Iran’s northern Alborz province. The suspects were said to be Mossad members involved in the production of bombs, explosives, booby traps, and electronic equipment.
Today, June 16, the semi-official Fars news agency reported that a man identified as Esmail Fekri, who was found guilty of spying for Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad, was executed. The execution is the third in recent weeks related to the conducting of espionage on behalf of Israel. Fekri was said to have tried to pass on secret and confidential information about the country to “Iran’s opponents” and receive a reward for it. According to the news agency, he maintained contact with two Mossad officers as part of his cooperation with Israeli intelligence services.
