Iran's exiled prince doused with red liquid after Berlin press conference
Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi was splashed with a red liquid on Thursday, April 23, as he exited a building in Berlin following a press conference, according to a report by the Associated Press.
The incident occurred immediately after the event, as Pahlavi was leaving the venue. Despite the disruption, he briefly acknowledged supporters by waving before entering a vehicle and departing the scene.
Police quickly intervened and detained the suspected perpetrator at the scene, authorities said.
Pahlavi, who has lived in exile for nearly five decades since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, continues to present himself as a political figure with a potential role in Iran’s future.
During the press conference prior to the incident, he criticised the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, positioning himself against the current diplomatic approach.
