Iran’s judiciary chief calls US naval blockade, ship attack “war crime”
The head of Iran’s judiciary, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, has stated that US actions against Iran, including the blockade of its ports and an attack on a commercial vessel, constitute “war crime.”
He said the maritime restrictions violate the ceasefire regime, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iran International.
“We will certainly respond to these actions,” Ejei noted.
He also said that the likelihood of further attacks by the United States and Israel is high, adding that Iran must be prepared for such developments.
Earlier, Iran's parliamentary speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf made it clear that Tehran is preparing "new cards on the battlefield" if fighting with the US resumes.
The ceasefire between the two countries is due to expire on Wednesday, April 22. US President Donald Trump says an extension is "highly unlikely."
