Iran's seizure of ship goes against international law - UK defence secretary

UK Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps has said that the Iranian military's seizure of the container ship MSC Aries in the Strait of Hormuz goes against international law.

“The seizure of the cargo ship MSC Aries by Iran is unacceptable and a blatant violation of international law,” Caliber.Az quotes Shapps as saying on his X page.

“We call for the unconditional release of the ship and its crew without delay. We are working with partners to prevent escalation in the Middle East. Iran must cease their destabilising behaviour immediately,” he wrote.
