Iran says US sole source of instability in Strait of Hormuz
US actions in the Middle East remain the sole source of instability surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has stated, adding that Tehran would respond to any US actions with a “crushing blow.”
“The Islamic Republic of Iran reminds [the world] that the only factor determining the instability of maritime routes in the region is the illegal actions of the United States and Israel, which began on February 28,” the ministry noted, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Earlier, Barak Ravid, a correspondent for Axios and Israel’s Channel 12, reported that US forces had struck two missile launchers on Larak Island in southern Iran.
According to his source, the Iranian side had allegedly intended to “launch missiles with sea mines into the Strait of Hormuz.”
Iran subsequently launched strikes on US bases in Jordan.
