Iran set to resume direct flights with Austria
Direct flights between Vienna and Tehran will be resumed by Austrian Airlines starting Monday, following several months of suspension, according to the Imam Khomeini Airport City Company (IKAC Co.).
“On Monday morning, November 12, we will witness the first Austrian Airlines flight to the country. During a ceremony, direct flights between Vienna and Tehran — and vice versa — will officially resume after months of interruption,” said Ahura Mohammadi, Director of Public Relations at IKAC, speaking to local Iranian media on October 31, Mehr writes.
He added that following recent negotiations and a joint meeting between the CEO of IKAC and Stefan Wersemann, Lufthansa’s station manager in Iran, plans are also underway to restore Lufthansa’s direct flights.
“In the next two months, we will have direct Lufthansa flights, and the Tehran–Frankfurt route will be re-established,” Mohammadi noted.
