03 March 2026 11:16
The Embassy of Iran in Riyadh announced that the process of returning Iranian pilgrims and Umrah participants from the holy cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia has begun.
According to Tasnim, the Iranian ambassador said the procedure is organised similarly to the return of pilgrims through the Saudi-Iraqi border after visiting holy sites in Iraq.
A total of approximately 9,000 Iranian citizens are currently in Mecca and Medina and are expected to begin returning home in the coming days.
