Iran strikes UAE base hosting Australian forces

Iran carried out a strike on Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates on the morning of March 18 (Australian time), targeting a facility that hosts an Australian military contingent, according to a statement from the Australian Department of Defence.

The ministry said that no Australian personnel were injured in the attack, adding that all service members have been accounted for and remain safe.

Authorities reported minor damage within the Australian section of the base, including to a residential building and a medical facility.

The Defence Ministry stressed that the protection of personnel remains its top priority and noted that security measures will be reassessed in response to the evolving regional situation.
