Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has underscored the importance of cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe on various issues, including the preservation of the Persian language. This was highlighted during his meeting with Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon and his delegation on July 30.

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that expanding relations with regional countries, especially those sharing a common language, culture, history, and religion, remains a central policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

"As in the past, the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to sincerely cooperate with Tajikistan in various fields," he stated.

The Leader praised President Rahmon's visit to Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Masoud Pezeshkian, emphasizing that such high-level visits lay the groundwork for enhanced bilateral cooperation.

Highlighting a key area of mutual interest, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that the Persian language is a significant commonality among Iran, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan. He called for increased efforts to preserve and promote the language, which is a vital cultural link between the countries.

President Rahmon expressed his country's intent to deepen relations with Iran, drawing on Iran's advancements in science, health, and industry. His visit, along with those of numerous other foreign officials, underscores the importance of President Pezeshkian's inauguration for fostering international relations.
