Iranian ambassador claims US “defeat” in conflict with Tehran
The United States has suffered a defeat in its confrontation with Iran and is now seeking to offset this outcome through diplomatic negotiations, Iran’s Ambassador to Egypt, Mojtaba Ferdousi Pour, has said.
In an interview with TASS, the ambassador argued that Washington’s losses extend beyond the battlefield, encompassing economic and energy domains as well. The diplomat linked this conclusion to the decline in the use of the US dollar in international settlements.
“They have suffered defeat, but are trying to achieve victory at the negotiating table and through diplomacy,” the ambassador said.
He added that, after “all the attacks” from outside, Tehran has the right to refuse negotiations and “demand what it wants from the opposing side.”
