Iranian envoy denies targeting US embassy In Riyadh

Iran's ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Alireza Enayati, categorically denied that his country attacked the US embassy in Riyadh, following accusations by Saudi Arabia that Iran targeted the compound with drones.

"We confirmed that Iran has no role in the attack on the US embassy in Riyadh," the ambassador told AFP. "If the operations command in Tehran attacks somewhere, it takes responsibility for it."

A “limited fire” has broken out at the United States Embassy in the Saudi capital of Riyadh after it was hit by two drones on March 3.

The strike on the US Embassy caused “minor material damage” to the compound, the Saudi Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
