Iranian, French FMs discuss Middle East tensions, Hormuz Strait

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot, focusing on the situation in the Middle East and around the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi announced on his Telegram channel.

During the discussion, attention was given to regional instability and developments near the Strait of Hormuz. Araghchi stated that the responsibility for the situation lies with the United States and Israel.

He emphasised that Iran’s defensive actions are aimed solely at U.S. military bases and installations in the region and should not be interpreted as attacks on other regional countries.

The ministers also discussed several consular issues.
