Iranian hacker group says it accessed Jerusalem surveillance cameras for years
An Iranian hacker group known as Hanzala has said that it allegedly maintained control over surveillance cameras in Jerusalem for several years during an unprecedented cyber operation.
The group had access to city and security cameras, including systems linked to Shin Bet (Shabak), Israel’s internal security service, Tasnim reports.
Footage recorded by the surveillance systems was secretly copied and stored in separate archives controlled by the attackers.
Representatives of the group said that “no walls or outdated technologies can hide information from us,” adding that “the situation in the region is completely under the control of the Truth Front.”
Local authorities in Israel have not commented on the report. Cybersecurity experts cited in the report warned of potential risks of data leaks and called for an urgent audit of surveillance systems.
