Iranian leader’s adviser warns US of captured troops in case of war
Mohsen Rezaei, a senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, stated on April 29 that the United States is in a “complete deadlock” and warned that renewed conflict could result in US warships being sunk and American soldiers taken prisoner.
He said the least costly option for the United States is to accept Iran’s 10 conditions, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iran International.
“If the US enters a war, it should expect that we will take a large number of their forces captive,” Rezaei noted.
He added that Washington could increase pressure on Iran through economic and naval blockades, as well as by attempting to provoke internal instability.
According to him, renewed hostilities could affect Iran’s southern coastline, areas around Isfahan, and the country’s western regions.
Rezaei also warned that Tehran could face bombardments and what he described as “assassinations,” calling them among the remaining options available to Washington.
