Iranian president to embark on first official visit to Pakistan
President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, will pay a state visit to Pakistan on August 2–3 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, marking his first official trip to the country since taking office.
President Pezeshkian will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, senior cabinet members, and other top officials, Caliber.Az reports per Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
During the two-day visit, the Iranian President is scheduled to meet with his Pakistani counterpart, President Asif Ali Zardari, and hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Discussions are expected to focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation in key areas, including trade, energy, security, and regional connectivity.
The visit comes in the backdrop of Prime Minister Sharif’s most recent trip to Iran on May 26, 2025.
“The visit is expected to further strengthen the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran,” the Foreign Ministry stated.
