Iranian rocket hits Israel's Be'er Sheva, causes fires near tech park

An Iranian rocket struck the Israeli city of Be'er Sheva early Friday, with reports confirming the missile was of the same type that detonated near Soroka Military Hospital on June 19.

The information was first reported by Israel’s Channel 12.

According to the broadcaster, the missile carried an estimated 300 kilograms of explosives and featured a warhead equipped with a dispersive charge designed to scatter munitions over a wide area upon detonation.

Following the impact, CNN reported that a fire broke out near the Microsoft office in Be'er Sheva, located in the city’s technology park. The blast caused multiple fires across the southern part of the city.

Israeli police confirmed the Iranian strike resulted in material damage but stated that no injuries or casualties had been reported in the affected areas.

Be'er Sheva lies in close proximity to the Nevatim Airbase, one of Israel’s key military installations.
