Iranian strike in northern Iraq kills members of anti-Iranian groups
An Iranian attack has killed at least eight members of an anti-Iranian opposition group based in Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region.
The missile attack overnight targeted the group's headquarters near the city of Sulaymaniyah, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Rescue teams have so far been unable to recover the bodies of those killed due to the extent of the destruction and collapses in the mountainous area where the opposition group's headquarters was located.
The authorities also reported that air defence forces of the international coalition stationed near Erbil, the administrative centre of Iraqi Kurdistan, intercepted and destroyed eight Iranian explosive-laden drones that were heading toward the city early in the morning.
