Iraq denies presence of foreign forces at Mosul Dam

Iraq’s Ministry of Water Resources stated on March 15 that no foreign security forces, including US troops or Israeli Mossad operatives, are present at the Mosul Dam, according to a ministry post on Facebook.

The ministry emphasised that the dam’s security is provided solely by Iraqi forces, including Counter-Terrorism Service units, the army, police, Popular Mobilisation Forces, and the National Security Service.

Officials urged media outlets to rely on official sources and verify information before publishing.

Earlier, the armed group Ashab al-Kahf, linked to Hezbollah in Iraq, demanded the withdrawal of alleged foreign forces and threatened attacks in the dam area.
