Iraq extends airspace closure for another 72 hours
Iraq’s Civil Aviation Authority announced on Tuesday, March 31, that it is extending the closure of the country’s airspace for all incoming, outgoing, and transit flights for an additional 72 hours, according to INA.
In a statement, the authority said: “The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announces the extension of the closure of the airspace for all incoming, outgoing, and transit flights for 72 hours as a temporary precautionary measure.”
The agency explained that the decision was taken following ongoing assessments of the current security and regional situation, adding that the measure will be reviewed in line with any new developments.
“Airlines and relevant authorities will be notified of any subsequent updates,” the statement added.
