Iraq extends airspace closure for another week

Iraq has extended its closure of airspace for all flights by an additional week, citing ongoing security concerns in the region, according to a report by Caliber.Az referencing the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority's post on Facebook.

The authority said the restriction will remain in force from 12:00 local time on April 3 until 12:00 on April 10. It added that the measure will be subject to review depending on further developments in the regional security situation.

“The decision was made based on the current assessment of the security situation and developments in the region, subject to review in accordance with updated information. Airlines and relevant parties will be notified of any updates later,” the authority said.
