Iraq extends nationwide airspace closure by 72 hours

The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority has announced a 72-hour extension of the country’s airspace closure, suspending all arriving, departing and transit flights as a precautionary measure linked to the regional security situation.

According to an official statement, the restriction will take effect at midday and remain in force until midday on March 22. Authorities described the move as temporary, based on current security assessments, Caliber.Az reports per regional media. 

The aviation authority said the situation is being closely monitored and emphasised that airlines and relevant stakeholders will be promptly informed of any changes.
