Iraq oil flows continue via Hormuz despite regional tensions

Iraq exported 10 million barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz in April, Oil Minister Basim Mohammed said, highlighting continued flows through the strategic waterway despite war-related disruption and heightened maritime tensions along one of the world’s most important energy routes.

Mohammed also said Iraq is seeking talks with OPEC to increase its production and export capacity, adding that Baghdad aims to reach a production capacity of 5 million barrels per day.
