Iraq’s Islamic resistance warns of attacks on US forces
The armed group known as the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has warned that it could directly enter into armed conflict with the United States if Washington further escalates its military actions against Iran.
According to a statement cited by the press office of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the group said it would target U.S. interests and military bases in Iraq and elsewhere in the region if the United States intensifies its involvement, Caliber.Az reports.
The statement warned that any further U.S. escalation against Iran would prompt attacks on American military facilities and other U.S.-linked assets across the Middle East.
At the same time, the group said it has not carried out any military operations against U.S. targets in Iraq or elsewhere in the region in recent days.
