Iraq's Kurdistan, France reaffirm partnership amid Mideast escalation
President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, held a phone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, the administration of the Kurdistan Region reported.
During the call, the French Foreign Minister reiterated his country’s support for the Kurdistan Region in the face of attacks targeting the area.
Both sides discussed current developments in the region and ways to address emerging challenges, and confirmed their readiness to continue close cooperation to maintain peace and stability.
President Barzani expressed gratitude to France for its ongoing support of the Kurdistan Region and emphasised the importance of France and the international community in deterring threats and preventing the escalation of conflict in the region.
