Ali al-Zaidi has formally taken office as Iraq’s Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, according to a statement from the government’s press service cited by Caliber.Az.

The handover of power was conducted through an official handshake ceremony with his predecessor, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, marking the transition of authority.
