Ireland expands financial backing for Ukraine’s energy infrastructure
04 February 2026 17:46
Ireland has announced a new €25 million contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, increasing its total commitment to €27 million, Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy said.
Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Denys Shmyhal, welcomed the move and expressed gratitude to Irish officials for their continued support.
“Thank you to Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence Helen McEntee, as well as Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment Darragh O’Brien, for their support during this difficult time and for the assistance already provided last year — €2 million and 19 shipments of humanitarian aid weighing more than 230 tons,” Shmyhal said.
