IRGC claims attack on US Fifth Fleet base and Israeli cities
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had used Khorramshahr ballistic missiles equipped with 2-ton warheads in a new phase of its military operation targeting Israel and the United States.
According to a statement by the Iranian military broadcast by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, the strikes were carried out as part of the 43rd phase of Operation “True Promise – 4.”
The IRGC said the operation targeted the base of the United States Fifth Fleet as well as several other American military facilities, in addition to strikes against the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Eilat.
“During the 43rd phase of Operation ‘True Promise – 4’, we attacked the base of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet and a number of other American military bases, as well as the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Eilat. For the strikes, we used Khorramshahr missiles with 2-ton warheads, as well as Emad and Kheibar Shekan missiles with 1-ton warheads,” the statement said.
Iranian forces reported that, in addition to the Khorramshahr missiles, they used Emad and Kheibar Shekan missiles equipped with 1-ton warheads during the attacks.
