IRIB: US loses two Black Hawk helicopters during F-15 pilot rescue

The US military operation to rescue the second pilot of a downed F-15 fighter jet failed, with the United States losing two Black Hawk helicopters during the mission, an official from Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia military headquarters, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, said, according to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB.

“The enemy’s efforts <...> to rescue the pilot have failed. In the south of Isfahan, enemy aerial assets were shot down, including two Black Hawk helicopters and a C-130 military transport plane,” the statement said, noting that the US equipment caught fire following the attacks.
