Irish journalist slams US president amid California wildfires crisis

Irish journalist Chay Bowes has publicly criticized US President Joe Biden amid the ongoing devastating wildfires in California.

In a post shared on his X platform account, Bowes accused Biden of neglecting the crisis at home while prioritizing international affairs, Caliber.Az reports.

“The Final insult from a man who has shown nothing but contempt for the people of the US and the million dead in Ukraine.

His own country literally burns, while he ships billions to a Dictator. Vile,” the post reads.

As a result of widespread wildfires in California, more than 366,000 residents have been left without power, according to data from the monitoring resource.

Wildfires surrounding Los Angeles intensified on January 8, spreading to the iconic Hollywood Hills, leaving devastation in their wake.

Wildfires ravaging the Los Angeles area have destroyed multiple celebrity homes and disrupted Hollywood's busy awards season.

California firefighters continue battling the fires, with strong winds exacerbating the situation. At least 70,000 residents are under evacuation orders, and nearly 30,000 structures are at risk. The fires have destroyed iconic landmarks, including the historic Will Rogers ranch and parts of the Palisades Charter High School.
