Islamabad, Beijing review relations, regional developments on SCO sidelines

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, focusing on bilateral relations, regional developments and cooperation within multilateral frameworks.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM), according to a statement posted by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry on X.

"Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic.

The two leaders held a warm and productive exchange of views on bilateral relations, regional developments, and cooperation within multilateral forums.

The DPM/FM thanked Foreign Minister Wang Yi for appreciating Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace and stability, as highlighted during his remarks at the SCO CFM.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi conveyed best wishes to Pakistan for its upcoming Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) and hosting of the SCO Summit in 2027," the statement said.
