Islamabad imposes curfew amid preparations for possible US-Iran talks
20 April 2026 10:21
Preparations are underway in Islamabad, Pakistan, to ensure security in connection with possible negotiations between the United States and Iran, Al Jazeera reports.
A correspondent for the channel in Pakistan said that a curfew has been introduced in parts of the capital, including the heavily secured “Red Zone,” with roads blocked and security measures significantly tightened.
Over the past 24 hours, several Boeing C-17 Globemaster III aircraft have landed in Islamabad, reportedly carrying advance teams, including security personnel and armoured vehicles, according to the report.
The arrival of US military personnel suggests that preparations for the talks are progressing, although Iran’s position remains unclear.
