Israel accuses Hezbollah of causing explosion that injured Lebanese troops

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has denied reports linking it to the incident in which five Lebanese soldiers were injured after their vehicle struck a landmine in southern Lebanon.

In a statement, the IDF said its investigation found that, contrary to earlier claims, the explosive device had not been planted by Israeli forces, Caliber.Az reports.

According to the Israeli military, the mine belonged to Hezbollah.

“The incident occurred in the Kfara area, outside the Security Zone in southern Lebanon, where no IDF soldiers had any presence,” the IDF noted.
