Israel announces destruction of 80% of Iran’s air defence systems
Since the start of its military operation against Iran, approximately 80% of Iran’s air defence systems and more than 60% of its ballistic missile launchers have been destroyed, Israel’s Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, said.
“We are stripping the regime of its military capabilities, isolating it strategically, and bringing it to a point of weakness it has never faced before,” the Jerusalem Post quoted the general as saying.
Zamir added that after achieving air superiority, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are moving to the next phase of the campaign against Iran.
“We are now transitioning to the next phase of the campaign, in which we will intensify strikes against the regime's foundations and military capabilities,” the general said.
“We have additional surprise moves at our disposal that I do not intend to reveal,” he added.
