Israel calls up 20,000 reservists amid strikes on Iran

Israel has mobilised approximately 20,000 additional reservists as part of its ongoing military operation against Iran, according to Iran International.

The newly called-up forces are primarily assigned to the Air Force, the Intelligence Directorate, the Home Front Command and the Navy. They join around 50,000 reservists already on active duty.

An Israeli military official said the army aims to expand the mobilisation to about 70,000 reservists in the coming days, with most expected to serve in aerial defence units.

Israel and the United States are carrying out strikes on major Iranian cities and military facilities. Tehran responded by launching missile attacks against Israel and US bases across the Middle East.
